Together into the future of AGVs: idealworks enters into service partnership with ProLog Automation

"ProLog's distinctive service portfolio, which covers all important steps from simulation to implementation to service, quickly convinced us," says Adrian Litterst, Partner Manager at idealworks. Since then, ProLog Automation has become an important part of numerous implementations.
The demand for quickly realisable automation solutions is growing steadily – across all industries. idealworks, a wholly-owned spin-off of the BMW Group, comes into play here with exemplary flexibility and scalability. The Munich-based company’s solution portfolio consists of a flexible, scalable robotics ecosystem whose core elements are the AnyFleet cloud platform and the CE-certified autonomous mobile robot (AMR) iw.hub. When looking for a service partner with a high level of consulting competence, a wide range of services and in-depth AGV expertise, ProLog Automations’ vision and approach quickly won them over. Since the start of the partnership at the beginning of last year, the companies have already successfully commissioned five plants together.

Partnership with potential

The universal control via idealworks’ central cloud platform AnyFleet enables the interoperability of transport systems from different manufacturers and thus seamless cooperation of different automated as well as autonomous systems based on the VDA 5050 standard. ProLog supports the further development of AnyFleet interactivity with as many different robot systems as possible:

“ProLog’s distinctive service portfolio, which covers all important steps from simulation to implementation to service, quickly convinced us,” says Adrian Litterst, Partner Manager at idealworks. Since then, ProLog Automation has become an important part of numerous implementations. “This year, the team will implement customer projects independently for the first time,” idealworks’ COO Markus Bauer calculates the cooperation firmly into future planning.

Same understanding of service

The service partnership is multifaceted and autonomous for ProLog Automation. The implementation and commissioning of different use cases of various companies in diverse industries represent the central requirement. “As a professional partner, ProLog independently checks the project scope, evaluates and configures it and also implements it. In the challenging, overarching planning of the multitude of projects, ProLog inspires with flexibility and planning reliability,” Litterst appreciates.

Specifically, ProLog’s tasks include the commissioning of delivered robots, integration into the customer’s WLAN, mapping, creation of working points and missions, testing and optimisation, as well as start-up support in a wide variety of environments. “We are excited about the successful start-up of our service partnership and what the future holds for us. idealworks, like ProLog, is trimmed for innovation and solution orientation. We see great potential that we can exploit together,” emphasises Markus Zipper, Managing Director of ProLog Automation.

After five successfully completed implementations since the start of the cooperation, the largest commissioning to date is about to be finalised. In 2023, ProLog will continue to support idealworks as a maintenance and service partner for existing projects.
